This year marked the 25th anniversary for the Beartrap Summer Festival and this is a year that will never be forgotten.

The Beartrap Summer Festival always takes place in the serene setting of Beartrap Meadow, which music and nature come together. The blend of music has always ranged from tranquil to romping, but this year a bit of mayhem was added to the mix.

Saturday headliner Skid Row were the first metal band ever to grace the stage at Beartrap and the crowd loved them. Skid Row stepping in at the 11th hour after a last minute cancellation by Survivor. Skid Row were the loudest and most rocking band ever featured on the lineup. Although the contrasts from the earlier acts was apparent, the audience embraced and welcomed them while they sang along, screamed, and cheered.

Sunday's lineup continued the trend of talent in the meadow. Wyoming's own Ned LeDoux gave a stellar performance. Ned is the son of the legendary Chris LeDoux and it is obvious that the apple did not fall far from the tree. If you closed your eyes and listened, you would swear that Chris Ledoux himself was on the stage. I am sure he was in spirit. Fun Fact: Sunday was Ned LeDoux's birthday. During his performance, Doc and Prairie Wife from My Country 95.5 surprised him with a cake and got the entire crowd to sing him happy birthday.

Mark Chesnutt closed out the weekend with a masterful set. Chesnutt came out with both barrels blazing with old favorites and new treats. His latest album is called "Tradition Lives," and now he is part of the Beartrap Summer Festival tradition.

It does not matter if you are a country fan, a rock fan, or a bluegrass fan. The Beartrap Summer Festival is for everybody who is a fan of music, friendship, mountain air, and fun. See you next year in the meadow.
