Due to a last minute illness of a member of Survivor, Skid Row will be stepping in as the replacement headliner at the Beartrap Summer Festival on Saturday, Aug. 3rd.
Folks around here are pretty familiar with their music, so we thought we’d find a few things about this band that you might or might not be aware of. Here are 10 things we find really interesting about Survivor.
If you’re heading to the Beartrap Summer Festival hoping to hear some classic country music, you’ll be happy to know that Mark Chesnutt has been delivering exactly that for nearly 30 years.
It is typically pretty warm in meadow during the Beartrap Summer Festival and one of the best ways to cool off is with an ice cold brew. This year, we are fortunate enough to have brand new local beers to wet your whistle!
The Beartrap Summer Festival is August 3rd & 4th, and Ahern Rentals is giving you the last chance to save big on tickets – weekend passes will be available just $60 ONLY at our live broadcasts.
I don’t know if performers have ever taken requests during the Beartrap Summer Festival, but if it’s possible, I’ve got one for The Ransom Notes. I’m listening to/watching their video for their instrumental song “Catharsis” and it’s kind of amazing. 2 fiddles and a cello(!), with lots of fast finger and bow work, and a little syncopation thrown in for good measure.
I started by listening to their song “Echolocation” on YouTube…and a few moments in, it struck me that these cats are an instrumental band! Why the exclamation point at the end of that sentence? Because let’s face it – as much as I love good vocals and great harmonies, sometimes it’s really fun/interesting/relaxing/invigorating (and many other adjectives) to hear, really hear, the instrumentation.
Hankerin’ for some strong female-fronted alterna-folk music? Hanker no more – we here at the Beartrap Summer Festival present…Whippoorwill, a folk-rock trio out of Fort Collins.
